Identify and name the basic parts of the human body.

You will need:

a photo of your child as a baby and a more recent one. These can be shown on a phone or any device.

Talking Task 1

Look at the photos together and discuss:

How have you changed as you’ve gotten older?

What things have stayed the same?

Children should identify that they’ve still got the same parts of their body and can name them using basic vocabulary (head, neck, arms, elbows, legs, knees, face, ears, eyes, hair, mouth and teeth).

By observing the photos closely, they should be able to identify changes in their bodies over time.

Talking Task 2

Do you suddenly get taller on your birthday? Explain!

Finish with a story:

‘Big’ by Tim Hopgood.

If you would like to send us a photo of your child next to their younger photo, we could put it on the website.
