Recap what the children have learnt about Mary Seacole. Who was she? Why is she significant? What facts can they remember about her? What did she use to heal the soldiers? This week, the children will be comparing hospitals in the past to modern day hospitals, looking at the various equipment they had/have. Look at the pictures on the sheet and talk about what we have today in our hospitals and what Mary Seacole would have used. The children should use the table provided to put each item in the correct box, however, rather than cutting out the pictures and putting them in the correct column, I’d rather they wrote them in. They are all labelled. Some of the items may go into both columns (e.g. bandages).
