Spring 1, Week 5 01.02.2021

All of the children’s work should be dated, either in their English Workbooks or on their worksheets. I’d like them to complete the following activities:

 

Monday: Long ‘a’ sound. The children should trace over the patterns and words and then practise joining them on the sheet.

Tuesday: Long ‘a’ sound (2). Using their sheet from yesterday, the children should practise writing the patterns and words into their English Workbooks, focusing on the correct start and end places for their letters. They should also make sure their writing sits on the line and should be careful with the size. They can try to join if they wish. They should date their work.

Wednesday: Practise this week’s spellings, joining the letters where they can. Children should focus on letter formation and size. There is a blank line guide available on the Year 2 Class Page in the Handwriting Section for children to practise their spellings.

Thursday: Long ‘e’ sound. The children should trace over the patterns and words and then practise joining them on the sheet.

Friday: Long ‘a’ sound (2). Using their sheet from yesterday, the children should practise writing the patterns and words in their English Workbooks, focusing on the correct start and end places for their letters.
