Computing lead:

Mrs S Nicholson

The increasing use of technology in all aspects of society makes positive, create and productive use of ICT an essential skill for life. at Forest Hall our aim is for children to become confident and accomplished in all areas of ICT and technology.

The school has a well resourced, recently updated central computer suite, including 8 student laptops and 22 new desktop computers and a class set of iPads. All children have access to these, working in a variety of ways, using word processing, data bases, graphic presentations, the internet, PowerPoint, desktop publishing, modelling techniques and a wide range of apps. The additional use of videos, clever touch TV's in classrooms from year 1 to year 6 all add to the children's computing experience. The children are taught skills in designated computing sessions but then are encouraged to apply their skills across all areas of learning such as creating PowerPoint presentations and Comic book designing programmes in Literacy, animations and digital space creators in Art and Design and generating graphs in Science and Maths.

School is committed to e-safety and so children are taught how to keep themselves safe in cyberspace in age appropriate activities throughout their time here.
